THERAPY FOR CHILDREN

At Embody + Mind Collective, we understand that your child’s development can be full of challenges. As parents, you want to see your child grow and thrive, but sometimes, anxiety, school struggles, or handling big emotions can make that journey difficult and confusing. We’re here to help guide you and your child through these tough moments.

Our child therapy focuses on helping kids express their feelings and manage them better, using body-centered techniques to help them feel more in control. We also work closely with parents, offering support and understanding as you navigate each stage of your child’s growth. With creative and playful methods, we address a wide range of challenges, from babies to teens, so families can heal and move forward together.

INDIVIDUAL THERAPY

At Embody + Mind Collective, we offer therapy for kids of all ages, understanding that each stage of development brings different challenges.

For younger children, ages 0-5, we know how important it is for parents to be involved. That’s why we invite caregivers to join in the sessions. We create a supportive space where parents can better understand their child’s emotions and learn ways to help them grow and feel stronger at home.

For older children and teens, we provide a safe and private place where they can talk about what’s bothering them, whether it’s school stress, social issues, or figuring out who they are. Our therapists help them build coping skills so they can handle life’s challenges with more confidence.

No matter the age, our approach is always compassionate and creative, using proven methods to help kids and their families heal, grow, and move toward a brighter future.

ART THERAPY

Art therapy is a great way to help kids who are struggling with mental health challenges or going through important stages of development. Many children respond well to art therapy because it’s calming, fun, and lets them express themselves in creative ways.

Our registered art therapist works with kids of all ages and understands how to help them at each stage of their growth. Through art, kids can explore their feelings without having to find the right words, which is especially helpful when they're feeling stressed, anxious, or overwhelmed.

Because their brains and bodies are still developing, art therapy offers kids and teens a safe way to express themselves and deal with their emotions. It allows them to connect with how they feel through body-centered work, helping them stay calm and focused while working through challenges.

Whether your child is in elementary school or heading into their teenage years, our art therapist is here to help guide them on their journey.

SOMATIC THERAPY

At Embody + Mind Collective, we believe in using play to help children grow, heal, and feel better about themselves. We understand that some children, especially those dealing with trauma, may struggle with feeling calm and safe in their bodies. That’s why we take a body-centered approach to therapy that helps kids feel more in control.

Our therapists use fun, interactive games to create a safe space where children can explore their feelings. We pay close attention to how their bodies react, helping them develop skills to manage tough emotions and stress. With younger kids, we also use gentle touch and movement, similar to the way parents comfort their babies, to help them feel more secure and balanced.

By combining playful activities with body-centered techniques, we help children feel more at ease in their bodies, learn to handle their emotions, and find joy in the healing process.

FAMILY THERAPY

At Embody + Mind Collective, we recognize that the well-being of a child is intricately intertwined with the dynamics of their family system. Our family therapy services offer a collaborative and inclusive approach to addressing the multifaceted challenges families may encounter. We believe that by working together, families can cultivate stronger bonds, enhance communication, and navigate difficulties with resilience.

Central to our family therapy approach is the provision of parenting support, where caregivers are empowered with tools and strategies to foster a nurturing and supportive environment at home. Through guided discussions, psychoeducation, and experiential exercises, we assist parents in understanding their child's unique needs, promoting healthy attachment, and implementing effective discipline and communication techniques.

Additionally, our therapists facilitate open dialogue and exploration of family dynamics, helping members understand and navigate relational patterns, resolve conflicts, and strengthen connections. By fostering a safe and supportive space for expression and growth, we empower families to overcome challenges, heal from past wounds, and cultivate thriving relationships that support the well-being of every member.
